Intro

Short intro of module for students, just to give them a broad overview of what the instructional unit is about.

Objectives

The objectives give students a sense of direction for their learning; they define the purpose for the instructional unit. Effective learning objectives should be measurable because you will base the instruction unit (or course) outcomes on the objectives.

Readings & Resources

  •         Assigned textbook readings
  •         Attached articles
  •         Links to web resources

Instructional Content

These are focal points of the instructional unit. Information that you might emphasize during a group reading or discussion of materials. The essential concepts are not meant to provide the entirety of the instruction but rather to help direct and focus students as they review the reading and resources materials. Major concepts of the lesson, resources, images, videos, interactives, etc. Content should be complete but not excessive and relate to the instructional unit objectives. Students have their reading materials and other resources (the interwebs). This is the area where the instructor can really focus in and show students what they need to walk away from the instructional unit.

Assessments

Assessments should be purposeful and designed to demonstrate achievement of or progress toward learning objectives.
