Question Banks
There are a lot of benefits to working with Question Banks in Canvas. Questions from banks can be organized and used on multiple quizzes. Questions from banks can be randomized within a quiz. Questions from banks can replicate the experience of having multiple versions of a quiz.
Converting Quizzes to Question Banks
Most people start by creating quizzes in Canvas instead of question banks. Once you’re ready to begin working with banks, you’ll first have to convert your Quizzes to Question Banks. It’s a simple two-part process.
Part 1: Export the Quiz(zes)
- Settings/Export Course Content
- Select Quiz
- Select the Quiz(zes) you want to export
- Click Create Export
- You’ll see a listing near the top of the page under the heading Content Exports, click on that and save the zip file to your computer
Part 2: Import the Quiz(zes) to Create Question Banks
- Settings/Import Course Content
- Select Canvas Course Export Package OR QTI
- Browse for the zip file that you saved from the export
- Click All Content
- Click Import
