Instructional Content

Creating Vs Curating Content

Both instructor created and non-instructor created content are useful in a course. Each has its own benefits. There’s no need to recreate the wheel but you have an expertise which shouldn’t go to waste.

Why Instructor Created Content Is Important

Instructor created content reinforces your role as an expert in the field.Instructor Voice

What is instructor voice? It’s the environment you create with your presence through the words you speak and the words you write. You create a presence in both the physical and virtual learning environment that communicates to your students what they will learn and that in your classroom it’s safe for them to explore concepts.

Authority & Enthusiasm

Instructor created content provides a space for faculty to demonstrate their subject matter expertise and share their voice with students. Instructors can share their enthusiasm for the subject matter and their real-world experiences with their students. When instructors demonstrate their subject matter expertise, they share that love and passion for the content area and it’s contagious. Students are inspired and they carry that enthusiasm out into the world and continue learning.
