Week 1 Activity for Students

During the first week of your class, ensure all students know how to log into and navigate your Canvas course site. Share with students what they can expect during a campus closure.

Create at least one activity during the beginning of the semester for students to complete.

The activity can be a discussion, assignment, or quiz. One of the benefits of this activity is that it will help to ensure that students have access to Canvas so that they can begin to familiarize themselves with your course site. You might use this activity to gather feedback from students about potential barriers they would face if the college closed and face-to-face courses were to shift to remote instruction.
