Pedagogy – Resources dealing with how to teach well including:
Teaching Strategies: Resources involving teaching strategies, pedagogy, and best practices such as the use of exit tickets or metacognitive strategies.
Student Engagement: Resources involving getting students to feel interested or personally interested in a course. Includes strategies, activities, and tips to promote participation.
Assessing Student Learning: Resources associated to a checking how much or how well a student has learned. Examples include building authentic assessments, working with canvas questions banks, and creating flipgrid assignments.
Delivering Course Content: Resources involving the creation or presentation of information for a class. Examples include how to create effective instructional videos and chunking.
Technology and Tutorials – Resources dealing with course/material construction including:
Technological Teaching Tools: Resources involved with technological teaching tools such as zoom, miro, or flipgrid.
Working With Canvas: Resources involving canvas course construction and management. Examples include embedding video in canvas or changing announcement settings in canvas.
And Resources for: Canvas, Zoom, Flipgrid, making videos, and Proctorio
Note: while “Resources for Canvas” includes anything involving Canvas at all, “Working with Canvas” is a subset of these where Canvas is a primary purpose of the resource. There is substantial overlap between these two categories but this is necessary for the overarching system.
Community Resource Groups – Batches of resources either made by the OTC Communtiy, or beneficial to the OTC Community including:
Community, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Resources either created as a community or for the betterment of said community. Examples include a video about how instructors employ zoom, a textbook bank for first-generation students, and self-care resources.
Resource Library: Resources dedicated to offering many other resources such as a bank of free textbooks or a dozen links to canvas tutorials.
Resources For Students: Resources dedicated to helping students. Examples include how to use canvas, how to use proctorio, or how to use zoom.
